Here at John Cochrane Advertising, we have been part of the Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow for decades, and 2018 marked its 50th year.
The Supershow is the second largest annual event held at the Showgrounds, only behind the Ekka, accommodating over 250 exhibitors and showcasing almost 1,000 caravans, motorhomes, RVs, and campers.
Such an epic exhibition obviously comes at a cost and to cover costs, you need clientele. That’s where we come in... Being the 50th annual supershow with 50% off entry and 50 prizes up for grabs we were able to deliver a comprehensive advertising campaign that generated over 50,000 in attendance.
Our efficient campaign comprised media planning and buying and creative for large format digital billboards, regional and metropolitan press, TVCs, radio commercials, Google HTML5 animated display ads, Caravan Camping Sale home page buyout, and the production of a 56-page show guide with 50,000 copies going to press — a huge feat in itself.
Not to mention generating the concept for building the worlds largest caravan made out of LEGO bricks!
The 50th Queensland Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow was a huge success, with ticket sales up by 20% from previous years.
